Most Memorable Quote:I am McLovin” or “The funny thing about my back is, it’s located on my c**k.”

Well, it was a rainy Sunday and the wife and I were both feeling a little blah so we decided to blow the afternoon at the movies. We definitely could have used a laugh and we were not let down. No, I won’t spoil the plot, but what a fabulous walk down memory lane.

Check out the trailer and some other video clips.

The setup seems like every teen quest for sex and booze movie, but it is so much more. This was such a painful reminder of my dork best friend and I in High School that I couldn’t stand it. The two kids are very real kids. Not very handsome, sexy, or cool. (slightly over the top, but real) They have these “theories” and “schemes” to get the broads and the booze that all seem to go comically awry. The idiot side kick that seems to suck, the slightly too hot love interests, and the bully that gets his in the end. But that’s where it diverges from the route. The kids in the movie are all a little awkward and unsure of themselves. They all seem to know that they are dorks. They also look like the kids that I see walking to the High School in my town.

The two come together, then apart, then back together in a way that proves the triumph of friendship. They learn a lot about themselves and each other in the process.

There was also a secondary side story (not critical to plot, but so funny that I headbutted my wife when I was laughing my ass off) of their dork friend who gets hooked up with these two cops that are just a little a lot off. If you don’t die laughing at these scenes, you have no sense of humor.

Man, if you were ever a nerd kid on a quest to have just a sip of the life that the cool kids were drinking in, you will love this movie.

There are so many funny lines that you’ll be dropping around the water cooler that you need a pad to write them all down.
